I really liked your class a lot, I didn't think it would be interesting because we were going to talk about art. However I learned a lot from your class. I have been wanting to go out and see some museums because now art has been interesting towards me, I made some mistakes not being able to do some post on times or starting off my first test the best, but I liked it. As you could see I might or might not pass your class but if I did I would take your next class even though I don't have to because you were a great teacher and I learned a lot.

Quasi Religious Performance Art

This was about a young man named Oliver Beer, he started off by just taking photographs of things that caught his attention, which soon led to him taking videos of different things. The things that he had made performance art was that he used people to sing in an underground tunnel which gave great echos. He did it religiously because he might have thought that it gives out great vocals. He did in fact take advantage of using it because since it was a tunnel it gave out a great sound whether it was a deep sound or high pitch sound.

Hyper- Documentation: A series of walks

I really didn't quite understand this, however I re-watched the video a few times to try my best to understand it. What I came across was that a lady was walking slowly with cameras taped to her body. Which turned out to be a live documentation in some art museum. It aloud people to talk in this box with a 360 live feed of this person walking. Soon after replaying the video to try to understand it, I came across that she wanted to put people in her shoes, she wanted to have people look at her and have the others in the box feel like they're being judged by others.

To be completely honest I do not find body art interesting. I don't know why but to me I don't really like it. This assignment was hard for me because of that reason, but knowing I have to do it anyways is something I had to try my best at. I know that sometimes we won't like things, so I tried my best to explain these performance art.

 One of the first art picture that I came across was a picture of what looks like could be an island, with dark rain clouds and a little sunlight sinking through the clouds openings. It's labeled as PH-72. The reason why I liked this picture was because it seems so peaceful, and it's a place that I would love to visit. Looking at this photo more and more I could see it as a painting we once looked at in class. The artist of that painting used great brushes, I remember it had a boat in the middle along with a sunset and trees I believe. This picture is just so calming that you can imaging yourself there looking out in the ocean and seeing a mountain that looks close but is most likely far away.

The next one that I also looked at was a guy looking down the scope of an AR15. It seems that this guy is practicing at a gun range. It's possible that he could be a solider and he could just be doing the duties that he was assigned to do. I liked the picture a lot because one day I am actually planning on joining the air force or the marines. Also I really like guns, on my dads side of the family are all gun freaks. Every time family visits from out of town we all go shoot our guns. The gun caught my attention in the first place because its part of me I can say. It's something that will always be apart of me.

"As a father, I felt deeply moved by the sight of that young boy on a beach in Turkey."

As you can see in this photo, this child is dead. What you can't see is that this child also had a brother and a mother. The reason why you can not see them is because they have drowned in the ocean. The father to this child was just trying to save his wife and children from a war that was going on. The person that took the photo didn't know what to do but say  "I thought, This is the only way I can express the scream of his silent body." meaning this is horrible on what's going on. People today have to risk their lives to survive in this crappy world. War is never a good thing, people will always die due by the action that is being taken. This photo really caught my attention when I first saw it because all you see is a dead child with his face in the water, with I believe is an investigator trying to think what could've happened. I believe that this photographer was trying to get this picture to be seen by the world because he/she wanted them to see what war has done to people these days.

Out of the two paints that were giving I really liked this because the meaning stands out. Although it might be hard to understand right away, you kinda have to look past it and start with the background being black. The painter is an African American that lived in the U. S. A. She wasn't giving right because of the color of her skin. To me I think this painting is suppose to be her, but if she was white. Yes, shes African but if she was white she would stand out to people and I think that's why she painted herself like this. The strips in the flag looks to be bars in a jail, with the start being protection. Blacks weren't given rights because of the segregation back then with blacks and whites. You can tell she's not happy because of what's going on. All we could say now is that we should be thankful that things changed over the time. If America says "we're a free country" we should live by it with all the citizens having their rights.

I picked an older picture of advertisement because I think they have a little more art within it rather than a new piece of advertisement. You said in class before we see advertisement everywhere, by when we drive or even at home. As you can see they're trying to advertise Mercedes with sex. I say sex because we can see a girl on top of the car either trying to paint the Mercedes sign or just looking at it. Today as we know Mercedes aren't cheap, they're very expensive. I personally don't think this is really aren't because it doesn't have a deeper meaning. To me art needs a deeper meaning to be considered art. Art for me are like paints, or tattoos. The reason why I say tattoos is because most tattoos and artistes put meaning towards it. Some people get them for looks or because it looked cool, but most get them for a meaning.

I agree that we are born to exist but we all have a meaning to life. I believe we were made because we play a role in life but we have to figure out what that roll is. We can shape our future any way we want, which is true. By being able to make our our choices gives us our freedom. Now by being able to make our own choices, now that's what will reflect on our lives. Yes we do have to live, make money, please others, but that's because we live to make ourselves satisfied with our work. Some think doing this is too much or something triggers their mind that they don't want to live which makes people take their lives. Which is wrong because there's so much to live for, but once to find what it is, you'll be happy. The thing what is the best about living is if we have our mind set to what we want to become and we achieve our goals, then that's what living is all about, because we are happy with ourselves.
